Changes ahead for Amplify – We are building this as we go!
Doors are opening for ministry and as that happens, things like social media, writing emails, and the day to day nuts and bolts are quickly becoming a drain on my time. Thank The Lord, I am adding three team members to help bear the load and get Amplify to be its best.
- Morgan Ford: Added to help with social media. All the video clips are going to be handled by her. She has a striking style that will make our social media visually appealing to make the message catch people’s eyes. She is a gift!
- Josh Young: Creator of Tekton, a company that comes alongside ministries to help reach their fullest potential. He is jumping on board with his team to make Amplify more unified, updated and self-sustaining. Meeting Josh has been an encouragement to me personally. He thinks so differently than I do, which is exactly what I have needed. Looking forward to the changes he will bring.
- Debbie Swanger: I am thrilled to introduce my sweet mama, who is going to work with our Amplify ministry partners. She truly has the gift of hospitality, makes people feel at home, and as a bonus, MUCH nicer handwriting than I have! Yes, it’s true, most of the time people cannot interpret my writing, so having her help is going to be helpful for us all.
All of this has transpired within the last several weeks, and I am so looking forward to everything that they will bring to the table to move Amplify towards being the best it can possibly be. Everything centers around the great commission, making disciples of Jesus Christ, our ultimate goal in this life.
April ministry work
When I last wrote you, I was heading to the airport in Sacramento, CA, heading to a conference in Los Angeles called Fire In Our Bones.
What a time of refreshing. After just pouring out at Teen Challenge in Ceres with my friend, Duane Henders, this was a chance to be poured into. I got to meet a lot of like-minded Believers who are doing incredible ministry work from all over the nation, including Gary Wilkerson, son of David Wilkerson (author of The Cross and The Switchblade). My friends, this is a great time to be alive! God is moving through His people—ones just like you and me.
With The Lord’s guidance, I am creating relational connections that will be beneficial right here in this region around Columbus. I recently got a tour of the new facility called The Hope Center which helps people who are desperate for food and clothing. I am looking forward to connecting with them and finding ways to serve them, similar to what I did in Kansas City.
Also, I was able to go to a chapel service in a local Correctional Facility with a couple of my friends. Wow! There is a fire in that place! As the doors open, I am looking forward to seeing how I can serve them.
I got to lead worship for a prayer room in Columbus for the Simply Jesus Conference—several churches came together in unity to make the prayer room happen for 50 hours. I am so thrilled to find similar ministry hearts here!
Finally, I just got home from the Walking Stick Retreat (I have mentioned it before in previous updates), and it was amazing. I got to pray with people and encourage many. Here are my friends and I around the table feasting at Skyline Chili. If you’ve never had Skyline chili before, it’s definitely… an experience.
Looking ahead: We have a trip to Washington DC scheduled, a trip to Kansas City, and at the end of June, I will be speaking at a breakout at a Teen Challenge conference in Phoenix, AZ.
