Please continue to pray for me from now until I get back the second week of March.
March ministry work
Greetings from Sacramento, California.
Over the last several months of living in Ohio, I have been snowed in for days at a time. It’s beautiful, but a massive transition after living for twenty years in Kansas City, MO.
While I was in Montrose, CO, at the beginning of the month, I got to spend a week with Chris and Jan Harris. Both are artists in their own right, as well as vocal and band support to artists Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Kathy Troccoli, and Cece Winans. During this particular retreat, they invited Mark Heimermann and his wife, Amy, to come and hang out. Mark has been a massive hero of mine for literal decades. His songwriting skills and production on artists like dc talk and Anointed were foundational for my life. I got to tell him how much his music shaped me, and even sang along to a song he co-wrote, “Jesus Freak,” at his show, which was a dream come true. A full circle moment!
Before they produced everyone else, Chris and Mark were a group that I grew up listening to called Prism, so of course, I needed a picture to capture the moment.
Catching you up to right now
This time here in California has been such a blessing! This trip, I got to travel with Duane Henders, a leader in the Teen Challenge world. We were invited to share and minister to the guys at the Teen Challenge Faith Home recovery center in Ceres, CA. Duane and I took turns sharing words of encouragement, and we saw many guys get free from heavy burdens and receive healing and direction from The Lord. Easily one of the best ministry trips ever.
This morning, I was invited to lead a song at Life Community Church in Oakdale, CA. I knew I wanted to sing my song, Come, Awaken Love. Looking out over the congregation and seeing people from so many different lifestyles singing boldly, “Here’s my heart / it’s all Yours” and “I don’t want to have a heart that’s hardened, I want a heart like You…” was so moving.
I am flying out tomorrow for a conference in Los Angeles, CA called Fire In My Bones, and am looking forward to seeing all that The Lord wants to do there.
