Hello friends- June is upon us. Summer is starting, and the ministry work of Amplify is just getting warmed up.
Looking ahead: I will be heading to Kansas City for about ten days to finish recording my first single since 2020, Wait On The Lord. What an ironic title, isn’t it? The finalizing of it has been on pause for well over a year due to many factors, but doors have reopened to get this finished, mixed, and mastered. One massive benefit of recording music is that a song will travel places that I personally cannot go. It can give that word of encouragement that someone needs in their car or on a break from work. I look forward to getting it released and seeing where it ends up. As always, I’ll keep you in the loop.
I took a ministry trip to Washington, DC. This was such a pivotal moment in our nation’s history, I brought my folks with me. First off, we arrived to the Rededicate 250 gathering at the Mall. Many believers from all over the nation came together to humbly pray for America and say together that we are one nation under God. Hearing the name of Jesus declared from the stage by our nation’s leaders was so encouraging. The day was HOT, but we survived.
While I was there, I was invited to a prayer meeting in the Capitol building. Pictured below, you’ll see the television monitor with the lyrics to the worship song Open The Eyes of My Heart, after that, we read scripture together, heard a message, then we took communion together. A very meaningful moment. Finally, after communion, we sang The Doxology and finished out with God Bless America.
While we were packing up, I was given my own personal tour of the rotunda, showing me the spiritually significant aspects of incredible Washington DC.
While there I also got to lead a worship set at David’s Tent. This ministry started Sept. 11, 2015, moving in unbroken 24/7 prayer. While I was there, I really wanted to sing called There’s Only One Way, which has these lines: “There’s only one, only one way to The Father, Jesus. You are the door that’s always open, at the end straight and narrow road…” (taken from my 2012 release, A Better Word) Lord willing, I will be back soon, when it’s less hot.
I had an opportunity to go with my friend Jason to go to the chapel service in A Correctional Facility, here in Ohio. After the pastor spoke, he invited the prayer team (I got to be a prayer team member) to come to the front of the chapel and pray for the men. I was surprised to pray for a young man who said he wanted me to pray for him because he saw my face in the dream. Isn’t it amazing how the Lord works? I love Jesus is just as much in there in these facilities as He is in our local Sunday gatherings.
Finally, once again, my friend Ronna Grimes and I continue to lead prayer and worship trainings by Zoom with an orphanage in Kisumu, Kenya. This month we shared with them, that God loves it when they sing and when they talk to Him in prayer. Song of Solomon 2:14, which I truly believe is Jesus talking to His Bride, The Church, He says to us, “…let me see your face, let me hear your voice. Your voice is sweet and your face is beautiful.”
Once I return to Ohio, I will be flying out the last week of June to share about Amplify and lead a breakout session for a Teen Challenge conference in Phoenix, AZ. I can’t even begin to express how much I need your prayers, please. This conference is specifically for the leadership of the ministry. Please pray with me that my session will land with the right people.
